Our veterinarians and nurses have been selected to provide a well rounded team so there is a personality available to suit all of our clients. We realise that our clients often spend more time selecting their pets’ vet than finding their own doctor! If there is a veterinarian that you prefer, all you need to do is to ring through and one of the staff will tell you when they are on duty. Because of the rotating rosters, you usually do not have many days to wait for your preferred vet to be on hand.

Free advice and consultations

All our staff are available for phone or email enquiries and visits with a consultant are free of charge unless treatment is mutually decided upon. This means that time spent with the vet of your choice to gain information or advice about your pets is free. The Ballajura team is committed to preventative medicine, management and maintenance regimes and will give you estimations should medical intervention be necessary. All quotes are binding so once you have decided on a course of action with your veterinarian, you can rest assured that they will not only take care of your pet but also you. There are never any hidden costs or nasty financial surprises in store for our clients!

Our clients never feel as though decisions have been taken out of their hands. At Ballajura we have a strong respect for the bond between people and their pets and work with our clients so they feel as though they are fully involved in the care and treatment of their pets. Our consultants offer a wide range of surgical services and treatment options and remain supportive to their clients from the initial discussion to conclusion of treatments. Every pet is different, every client’s needs are unique and it costs nothing to fully discuss what those needs are. Ballajura staff also value and respect the bonds that are forged between clients and personnel; care of your pet is a mutual commitment.

Vaccinations, micro chipping, worming, and other preventative services

The hospital offers the convenience of these services with clients being able to come into the hospital on every day of the week up to 7:00pm. This makes getting pets vaccinated, wormed, examined and problems discussed with their veterinarian easy for our clients who are busy during normal office hours.

Dentistry

Many clients feel that having dentistry performed on their pet is time consuming and expensive. Ballajura has the most up to date IM3 sonic dental scaler and when used by our experienced vets, enables teeth cleaning and extractions to be quick and painless for patients. Our consultants can also provide maintenance after dentistry to ensure our clients' pets' mouths remain trouble-free.

Sterilisations and routine surgeries

Our veterinary surgeons perform routine surgeries every day of the week from 8:00am. We aim to discharge our patients between mid afternoon and dinner time so you can have your pet home the same day. We strongly recommend visiting your pets should they require hospitalisation and this can be arranged any time during the day at your convenience.

Soft tissue surgery

Patients wait in bed for their surgeries in a temperature controlled environment. Ambient music and staff milling around keep them occupied until they become sleepy after sedation. Patients are then prepared for their procedure and are carried into surgery where our surgeons use only top quality instrumentation and consumable products to ensure surgical success. Surgeons give pain relief routinely to allow the waking up period to be as relaxed as possible. Our surgery nurses assist in all procedures and then afterwards, prepare your pet’s recovery bed with a fluffy quilt, warm blanket and a heating pad. They stay around your pet monitoring all vital signs until your pet wakes up and is ready to come home.

Orthopaedic surgery

Ballajura has the surgeons, the specialised equipment and the facilities to perform the most intricate of orthopaedic surgery. This saves our clients having their pet’s bone problems referred to a surgeon who is a stranger to them and their pet. Our surgeons also provide a complete after care service with a personalised support care regimes for all patients.

Radiography

With the latest in digital technology, our x-ray facilities compare favourably with the x-ray facilities that your specialist uses for you. Our modern diagnostic tools enable you to actually see the problem your pet has and ensure complete understanding of the procedures necessary to correct those problems. We even give you a copy of the radiographs to take away with you!

Pathology

All our clients are offered the complete range of pathology services with same day results. Veterinary pathology is an extremely specialised field so we ensure our clients receive the best advice for their pets' problems by allowing our veterinarians to combine their knowledge with the top animal pathologists in Perth.

Hydro bathing

Our hydro bath is available to all clients every day of the week from 8:00am to 7:00pm. It costs less than having a mobile service come to your home and your pet can always have a warm water wash for no extra charge. Using the hydro bath is great for young puppies as it gets them used to being washed and handled; they only have to wag their tails at the receptionist to go home with a treat. Our staff like pups to feel happy about visiting the hospital and encourage them to pop into reception and say hello before they become soggy. Older dogs benefit from being hydro bathed as the warm water jet massages their skin and fur so they go away feeling and smelling refreshed.

The young and the old

At Ballajura, we feel that the children of today are the pet owners of tomorrow and go out of our way to ensure that children understand what is happening to their pets. All our nursing staff take the time to explain and reassure both preventative care regimes and the care needed after a procedure.

Our email facilities provide our mini clients a way to communicate and get their questions answered (even if it is for school projects!) The only thing our staff ask in return is that visiting children give our expensive electronic scales the same consideration that they give children (our scales do not jump up and down on children and we ask children to be as courteous with the scales).

Our seniors citizens are well looked after with a beneficial 10% discount off all product and services. We believe that pets are an essential part of our lives and should not be seen to be a luxury; that’s why we are committed to help our seniors to access top quality pet care at an affordable price.

Puppies and dogs

We provide an entire health and behaviour preventative management program for pups and dogs from their first day to their last. All our clients need to do is to come in for a free consult to ensure we can support them with every stage of their dog’s life. From birth to two years we keep a strict eye on their growth and developmental progress to make sure we can nip any problems in the bud. From two to five years we like to see dogs every three to six months and after five years of age, we like to check them more regularly so we can keep an eye on their aging process. Your dog’s every need can be met by someone on the Ballajura team.

Kittens and cats

Cats are so independent from the time they are born that we often think that as they grow they are fully capable of looking after themselves. Often when they need care and attention, they give us the impression that they would rather we didn’t give it! At Ballajura, we understand cats and are able to ensure they receive the complete care and maintenance they deserve from the time they are born right through their lives. We have three members of staff (and access to an animal behaviourist) who really understand and can provide sound advice on feline behaviour as often when something changes in your cat’s life he only needs some consideration and attention to make it right again.
