Of course you can! Often you need to have your questions answered without interruption; our consultants are always happy to speak to clients either in person, by email or over the phone. If your question is regarding a specific problem with your pet, you will need to bring them in for examination.

It all depends on what medication your pet requires. The best thing to do is to phone through to the hospital and ask to speak to one of our veterinarians so they can ascertain what your pet needs and if they do need to see them before dispensing any medications. If it is safe for the medication to be given to you without having to bring your pet in, then we will be happy to help out.

Everyone seems to be an expert don’t they? And yes, pet diet is a confusing issue. Our veterinarians do believe that when you have a dog and a cat it is best to feed them separately with their own specific foods. We have pets ourselves so are realistic enough to know that they will eat each others food if given the chance. We only stock Hills science and prescription pet foods at Ballajura as we believe that they are the best quality complete diet. We carry the whole range so there is a diet to suit every pet. Our veterinarians are well versed on the specialised diets that are required for pets with certain conditions so if you are confused by all the different information, just pop in to see one of our veterinarians who can steer you on the right track. The best quality foods often have a greater price attached to them than the cheaper supermarket brands but work out to be more economical in the long run as there is much less wastage. Did you know that the majority of supermarket range canned pet foods contain between 64% to 84% moisture? … just check out the ingredient panel on the cheaper dry foods to see what percentage fibre they contain … all this wastage! With premium foods, you feed less, so there is less waste at the other end. Sounds good doesn’t it?
